For processors

Built for a wild game shop. Not a restaurant, not a packing plant.

Most software aimed at meat processing was designed for USDA-inspected plants that run year-round. You run 100 to 500 animals in nine weeks with one or two sets of hands. That’s a different problem, and it’s the only one this tool is trying to solve.

This fits you if

  • You take 100 to 500+ animals in a season, mostly in a nine-week window
  • You’re the owner and you’re also on the floor
  • Your intake system is a phone, a notebook, and a whiteboard
  • You’re custom-exempt, or otherwise not running a USDA inspection line
  • You turned hunters away last season because you couldn’t tell how full you were
  • You handle more than deer — hog, bear, elk, turkey — and want the same system for all of it

This probably isn’t for you if

  • You need scale integration, label printing, and USDA compliance tracking — Protein Platform is built for that and we aren’t
  • You need yield tracking and carcass-level costing
  • You’re a retail butcher shop with year-round walk-in counter sales
  • Your phone doesn’t ring and your cooler never fills. If nothing here sounds like your season, keep the notebook.

The real questions

Everything a processor has asked us so far

These are the actual objections, in the words they were said in. We’d rather answer them here than have you find out later.

I've been doing this 18 years with a notebook and it works fine.
It does work fine in October. In November you turned away hunters and spent half your day on the phone instead of on the floor. The notebook isn't wrong — it just isn't built for the volume you're doing now. This catches the ones it can't.
My hunters won't book online. They're old school.
They don't need an app or an account. They open a web page, pick a date, and type their name. Your hunters already order takeout and buy things on their phones. This is the same thing, and it's shorter.
I don't have time to learn new software during season.
Don't. Set it up in August before season starts — ten to fifteen minutes, and we'll do it with you on a phone call if you want. During season the entire job is tapping an order from Received to Processing to Ready.
$99 a month is a lot for something I'm not sure I need.
At $125 a head, it's less than one deer. If the booking page brings in one hunter a week who'd otherwise have called somewhere else, it's paid for several times over. And you get 30 days free with no card to find out.
What happens if the internet goes down?
Your booking page isn't running on anything in your shop, so hunters can still book. Your order screen works on your phone the same way Facebook does. If your shop connection drops for a day, the bookings are waiting for you when you're back on.
I don't have enough volume to justify software.
The processors who wait until they're drowning at 300 spend their first season with the tool fighting fires. If you're growing, set it up while it's quiet and grow into it.
Can't I just use Facebook messages or Instagram DMs?
You can, and you'll lose messages, double-book your cooler again, and have no written record of who wants what cuts. A DM is not an order system.
I'm cash only. Does this force me to take cards?
No. Card payment through Stripe is there if you want it and off if you don't. Cash-only shops mark an order paid with a toggle.

If you already use something

You don’t have to drop it.

Already on Field to Freezer

Good — hunters can find you. That gets them to your door. WildDrop handles what happens after: booking a date, tracking the order, and telling them when it’s ready. They work together.

Already have the My Game Processor app

Keep it if the cut sheets work for you. Then ask whether your hunters can book online right now without downloading anything, and whether your bill goes up in November.

Running scales and label printers

We don’t do hardware and won’t pretend to. If your scale setup works, keep it. We handle the scheduling and communication side.

I have almost no help. I get so frustrated working by myself I don’t even want to do it anymore.

Processor forum post

The part that burns processors out isn’t the physical work. It’s the phone, the paperwork, and the interruptions. That is precisely the part we built this for.

You know what last November cost you.

Set up a booking page before this one. Thirty days free, no credit card, and no obligation to keep it.

$99/month or $899/year after the trial.
