Somebody should have built this ten years ago.
Wild game processing is a small, seasonal business in a small town. No venture-backed software company was ever going to build for it. So the shops that feed millions of hunters are still running a nine-week rush on a spiral notebook.
Why it didn’t exist
The math never worked before.
There are somewhere between five and fifteen thousand of these shops in the country. Most are in towns of a few thousand people, doing $50,000 to $200,000 a year, almost all of it inside ten weeks. Nobody was going to spend a few hundred thousand dollars building software for that market and then try to sell it door to door.
Four tools have taken a run at it. One was full-featured but never reached processors. One is an app that charges more the busier you get. One needs a hardware installation and is really built for inspected plants. One helps hunters find you but doesn’t manage anything after that. None of them solved the thing that actually breaks in November: the phone.
The cost of building software came down far enough that one person can now build this properly and charge a price a small shop can absorb. That’s the entire reason WildDrop exists now and not before.

How we build it
A few rules we’re not going to break.
One price, published.
The price is on the pricing page. No sales call to find it out, no custom quote, no tier you discover you needed halfway through November. If we ever raise it, existing shops keep what they signed up at.
Nothing your hunters have to install.
No app, no account, no password for the hunter. The moment a hunter has to download something, the booking page stops working as a booking page.
It has to work with cold hands.
You’re using this on a phone, in a cooler, in November. Big buttons, few screens, no menus buried in menus. If it takes more than ten minutes to learn, we built it wrong.
Your customers are yours.
We don’t sell your hunter list, we don’t market to your hunters on someone else’s behalf, and we don’t put another processor’s ad on your booking page. Ever.
Who’s behind it
A small operation, on purpose.
WildDrop is a small, independent shop. Not a support department, a ticket queue, or an offshore chat window — when you email, you get the people who wrote the software.
That means two things. Requests get answered fast and features you ask for can actually get built during the same season. It also means we’re deliberately not trying to be everything a processing plant might want. We’d rather do intake, order tracking, and hunter notifications properly than do fifteen things adequately.
What we’re working toward

- ✓Grow the public processor directory so hunters searching for a shop in their county find one
- ✓Make the off-season useful — reach last year’s hunters in August so they book early
- ✓Keep the thing simple enough that a shop can set it up alone in ten minutes

We’d rather show you in person.
Processors don’t buy software from banner ads, and we wouldn’t either. We show up at the American Association of Meat Processors convention, we talk to state meat associations, and we’ll get on the phone and set your booking page up with you.
If a processor you trust tells you this works, that’s worth more than anything we could write on this page. That’s the plan: get it right for a small number of shops first, and let them be the reason the next ones try it.
